I pick this essay to be in my portfolio because this essay shows how much I have improve in my writing skills since freshman year. In this project I had to pick an industry and within the industry had to write an essay about everything of the industry. I had to do a lot of research about how the industry started, the big names within the industry, how the industry increased and how the industry is doing today. The strength for this project was doing the research, it was easy to for me to get all the information and also since the fast food industry is a easy one to learn about. my weaknesses for this project was that I didn't know how to start the essay, I was having a hard time getting a good beginning for the essay. In this project I got a really good grade and I was very proud of the finish product. The project overall shows my huge improvement since freshman year in my writing skills.
Race Studies- Expo Project
I pick this project to be my portfolio because honestly is this one of the best project I have ever done throughout my high school years. I this project I had to pick an issues that is happening because of race, I decided to do the issue going on with the police department because they have been getting a lot of backlash about the crime that was happening as many felt that is was because race. In this project I had to interview someone and I decided to interview my uncle who is a police officer. My strength for this project was actually the interview, the interview helped me a lot because I asked a lot good questions and the conversation was very helpful to like get an understanding of the situation. My weaknesses for this project was like making connection which is very hard because I wanted to make a good connection with issue. This project was a good one overall, I presented this project at the expo to many parents and others students and overall I heard good feedback from everyone. This project was very personal to me and close to me because since my uncle is a police officer I always worry about him because many people have such a negative view about police officer and to me because one police officer made a mistake doesn't mean that all police officer would make the same mistake.
Financial Math- Life with debt
I pick this video for my portfolio because it was honestly one of my favorite project for the year and the video was funny. For this project in financial math we were in a group and as a group we had to do a video about how life looks when you have debts in your life . We pick the scenario of a man who loss his job and his family because he went into debt because he spend all his money on clothes. We film his taking about his struggles and then we film him going into a meeting with a credit counselor to help him fix his debt. Then we also film him getting a job and finally getting back on track with everything. My strengths for this project was actually getting everyone to do their parts and making sure that we included everything that needed to be in the video. My weaknesses for this project was the I was in the video which affected my grade because everyone in the group had to be in the video. Overall I was very proud of my group because the video turned out to be a good one and the class had a good time seeing the video when we presented the video.
